Installation Service
ViMP installation package
In line with the installation service your pre-installed server will be prepared and adjusted for the usage of the ViMP software.
In order to use ViMP to the full extent, the already installed MySQL database and the Apache installation will be configured for the ViMP system.
Additionally the needed transcoding tools mendconder and ffmpeg will be installed and configured to ensure the high-quality output of your media.
Finally, the ViMP software with all purchased modules will also be installed and prepared for the first use.
Please note that your server must meet the minimum requirements in order to run ViMP and that we need SSH root access to your server in order to install the transcoding tools properly.
If you do not have a server yet, we will also be of assistance with this matter, too.
In case you booked a ViMP Managed Hosting package or a ViMP Managed Server, the installation is already included within the set up fee.

ViMP update installation package
If you want us to update your ViMP installation to a newer version, select the ViMP update installation package below.Please note that we update only ViMP within this service. If you want us to update the transcoding tools and/or the server components as well, please select the ViMP installation package.
Furthermore all custom code extensions or code modifications that you might have implemented (or one of our partner agencies in behalf of you) will be overwritten during the update.
Of course, we backup the existing code before carrying out the update, but custom modifications won't be transfered into the new code by us. This would have to be done by you in addtion or by an partner agency in behalf of you.
Also custom template modifications will be not be considered during the update. You will have to transfer them manually afterwards as well.
In case you booked a ViMP Managed Hosting package or a ViMP Managed Server, update installation is already included within the price (the above described annotations for custom modifications continue to apply here as well).
ViMP module installation package
If needed, we also install additionally needed modules for an existing ViMP installation later on.Please note that this package does neither include the installation or update of ViMP itself nor the installation or update of any transcoding tools or server software.
