With VIMP, we have been operating a multilingual B2B software solution as a video content management system for many years. The core functionality is comparable to the YouTube platform. The functional scope of VIMP has been significantly expanded compared to YouTube in terms of the integration of images, audio, documents and the addition of company-relevant features.
VIMP only requires standard server hardware for full operation, as VIMP solutions can be installed on publicly accessible Internet servers or operated on-prem in internal company networks (intranet).
With VIMP, videos can be provided, uploaded and virally distributed by both the operator and the user. Common features such as commenting, rating, forwarding and integrating media into other websites are also possible with VIMP. The special feature of VIMP Enterprise can also be seen in the various options for categories and channels. There is an unlimited selection of sub-categories, which are structured hierarchically and are ideal for deep integration. The categories are grouped according to the relevant contexts of the topics.
The various channels – comparable to YouTube channels – can be used for different organisational units or project groups, for example. Users can subscribe to them, whereupon they are automatically notified of new posts. The channels can also be set to “private” or “public”, whereby private channels can only be viewed by channel subscribers. This means that your content is only available to a clearly defined group of people if you wish.

Yes, VIMP allows you to import video files from different systems via the VIMP API. For example, you can import videos from YouTube and Vimeo via the upload form. All required metadata (e.g. title, description, preview image) is entered into the form fields via the interface to YouTube and Vimeo. In addition, the media import module in VIMP allows you to import media from a local directory or from a remote FTP server.
VIMP uses the latest security mechanisms to optimally protect your media and only allow access to authorised users. Media authorisations can be defined individually based on user roles.
VIMP is ideal for broadcasting your live streams of events, meetings, functions, conferences or lectures, for example. For each livestream, you can specify whether it should be available to the public or only to subscribers. In the latter case, an optional activation can be required so that you can precisely control the target group.
